Vadodara: The Rapid Response (RR) Cell of the Panchmahal range police seized demonetized currency notes with face lue of Rs 15 lakh from Dahod on Tuesday evening. Three persons were detained in connection with the seizure and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was informed regarding the seizure.
The seizure was made based on a tip off received by the RR Cell that Hemant Gohil, a resident of Dahod, was carrying the currency. As many as 1,190 scrapped Rs 500 notes and 885 Rs 1,000 notes were found in the helmet box of his scooter. Gohil said that – Ramesh Parmar, Navalsinh Bhabhor and Chandu Bhabor – had given him the notes. Ramesh and Navalsinh were also detained.
