Shah sets tone for 2019 polls

While anticipating a clear win in the Karnataka polls, results of which will be out on Tuesday, BJP president Amit Shah on Monday asked party office-bearers to gear up for the 2019 Lok Sabha election with confidence as the Modi-Government has done a commendable work in the last four years.

The BJP president said now that 2019 is round the corner it is being said  it would be unlike 2014 polls which was a “fluke”.  Dismissing the argument, he pointed out that after the 2014 Lok Sabha win the BJP had scored victories in 11 State elections.

Addressing party office bearers meet here, Shah said the BJP has to move ahead and win not only general elections but more States like Odisha, Kerala, Bengal and Andhra Pradesh. Shah, though, said his party’s main aim was ideological change and not grabbing power.

He said that BJP would win the Karnataka elections and that it was a good feeling that it was now turning to be the BJP versus all other parties in the country as his  party is winning one elections after another.

Briefing newspersons after office-bearers’ meet here presided by Shah, BJP spokespersons Sudhanshu Trivedi and Shahnawaz Hussain quoted Shah as saying that satisfaction from series of poll victories should not convert into self-complacency. Shah said BJP is being now copied by many rival political parties who are having even booth-level conferences.

Trivedi said the meet reviewed the feedback from all the states on the implementation of party and Government’s programmes and use of NaMo App within party workers for communication and interaction.

He said reporting was done on night-stays of central ministers and office-bearers in  20000 villages.

Along with feedback , suggestions were also invited with the President insisting that all should submit their suggestions.

He said States came up for discussions and the meet appreciated BJP’s Municipal win in Jharkhand and election of a BJP member as Chief Executive member in Mizoram Council. Trivedi said violence against BJP workers in West Bengal Panchayat elections has virtually uprooted democracy. He said Centre has already sought a report on the violence in the State.

Besides election issues, party president also reviewed construction of BJP offices in all the districts in the country.

All BJP Morchas will have meeting here. Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are expected to present during the meet.
