Rafael Nadal: Spanish star responds to Dominic Thiem claim
RAFAEL NADAL says he is unsure if Dominic Thiem is his biggest threat to an 11th French Open title.
Nadal’s blistering start to the clay-court season was halted last week as he was beaten in straight-sets by Thiem in Madrid.
Thiem went on to reach the final where he was beaten by Alexander Zverev.
But Thiem’s win means Nadal’s march to a historic 11th French Open title could be under threat.
Nadal has a chance of revenge over Thiem at this week’s Italian Open with a possible quarter-finals meeting at the final Masters 1000 event before Roland Garros, which begins on May 21.

Dominic is one of those players that is dangerous to everyone
And the 31-year-old feels that while Thiem is a dangerous opponent he is only concerned about his own performances.
“I don’t know,” he told the ATP World Tour when asked if Thiem is his biggest threat.
“Of course, Dominic is one of those players that is dangerous to everyone.

“And he is one of the candidates to win all the matches on this surface.
“But let’s see. I am just worried about my things and what happens with other players I cannot control.
“The only thing that I can do is try to do things the right way to be ready for it.”
