‘Rythu Bandhu cheque distribution in TS over 40%’

The State-wide distribution of investment cheques under the Rythu Bandhu scheme on Tuesday remained over 40%, said Principal Secretary (Finance) K. Ramakrishna Rao here. A total of 18,10,605 cheques have been distributed to farmers across the State till Tuesday morning, he informed.

Visiting a host of villages to inspect the distribution exercise, Mr. Ramakrishna Rao said he witnessed smooth conduct of the programme at the spots he visited, barring a few errors here and there. “Because of not seeding Aadhaar details, several cases of pattadaar passbooks with erroneous records are being found. Through proper reporting of the same, corrections will be made,” he said.

Speaking to presspersons at the NSP guest house in Miryalaguda, he informed that ₹5, 860 crore was made available with banks, and all beneficiaries at the banks and distribution centres are provided basic amenities, he added.

In his tour to the villages and banks earlier, Mr. Ramakrishna Rao interacted with the farmers and found that one beneficiary, Balamma, had received ₹3,700 for her 37 gunta land.

A few other farmers suggested that 12-hour electricity for agriculture was sufficient.

District Collector Gaurav Uppal and officials from the Revenue and Agriculture departments were present.
