Traffic chaos as crash closes Mitchell Freeway

Perth traffic has been thrown into chaos with the partial closure of Mitchell Freeway.

A serious crash prompted the closure at Ocean Reef Road with southbound traffic coming to a standstill.

The accident happened just before 11am.

Emergency crews remain at the crash site, but at this stage there is no word on injuries.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
