Facebook has become inundated with violent and terrorist posts, the company has admitted, revealing that reports of extreme photos and messages have multiplied in just three months.
The social network, which has 40 million British users, has released figures for the first time showing the levels of banned and blocked posts, from spam to extremism, on the site.
The amount of violent material discovered on Facebook grew by 183 per cent, with material being shared from the civil war in Syria adding to the number of graphic images.
