Asha Lata students win 24 medals in sports

The students of Asha Lata Kendra Bokaro won 24 medals at the state-level sports competition under ‘Khelo India,’ a national programme for the development of sports organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for people with disabilities.

All total 17 students of Aaha Lata participated in the different events held at Ranchi and won the medals including 4 Gold, 12 Silver and 8 Bronze, informed an official.

The students who won the Gold Medal are Deepak Oraon, Bablu Kumar, Prathan Singh and Jitendera Kumar while the Silver medals winners are Ashish Kumar, Chintu Rakaj, Chandan Kumar, Abhishek Kumar, Deepak, Laxmi, Priti, Asha, Rekha including others.

The Bronze medals winners are Abhiskek, Jitendera, Rohit, Chanda, Deepak, Aman, Moti and Rekha, said the official. 

Asha Lata, an institute for education, development and rehabilitation of differently challenged children, working for all categories of challenged children like visually impaired, Hearing impaired, orthopedically disabled, intellectually challenged, Autism, Cerebral Palsy including multiple disabilities.

“We are providing education from Class I to class XII and after class XII, we provide necessary help, support and guidance for their higher studies and help them to join the mainstream of the society”, said a member of the organization.

“The unique feature of our organization is that we are working for all categories of disabled children. Due to their integration, it has been observed that the children empathize with each other and try to fill in for others disabilities. This has brought a strong feeling of companionship and team spirit and their co-ordination in various projects has been exemplary and achievements are remarkable”, he added.
