Four labourers were killed and two others sustained serious injuries when a wall of a residential complex, where renovation work was going on, collapsed on them at Voharwad in Dhanera town in Banaskantha district, police said.
"Renovation work was going on in the residential building located in Voharwad locality in Dhanera. Six labourers were re-constructing a wall when a neighbouring wall collapsed on them, killing four of them on the spot," a Dhanera police station official said.
The deceased were identified as Amrutbhai Thakor, Davabhai Majirana, Khemabhai Thakor and Hansabhai Harijan.
The injured duo was rushed to a Dhanera-based hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
Based on a complaint lodged by a relative of one of the deceased, the police have booked building contractor Pravinbhai Suthar and engineer Sanket Mehta under IPC section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder).
Further investigation is on, police said.
