Quick-thinking RPF officer saves 5-yr-old girl from coming under local train at Mahalaxmi railway station


Mumbai: In a CCTV footage captured at Mahalaxmi railway station, a little girl can be seen trying to board a local. However, as the train moves, she slips and just while she is about come under the train, a brave RPF personnel jumps and saves her.

The incident came to light at the Mahalaxmi railway station where a Maharashtra Security Force jawan Sachin Pol quickly jumped and saved the life of a 5-year-old after she slipped from her mother’s arms while boarding the local.

The family to whom this toddler belonged, were visiting Haji Ali area and were on their way back to Bhiwandi. And when they were about to board the train at Mahalaxmi station, the 5-year-old kid got left behind and came this close to dying.


Sachin Pol, the RPF personnel was also there and was about to board his train when he saw the toddler being dragged away by the train. Without thinking twice he jumped into action. Although he suffered minor injuries, he managed to save the kid’s life.

Both the officer and the toddler suffered minor injuries during the accident, but it’s a miracle that she’s saved. “He will be rewarded suitably”, added A K Singh, principal chief security commissioner of Western Railway.
