BETHEL — The town is hosting a workshop next week to help residents know the signs of Alzheimer’s disease.
Shanon Jordan, the southwestern regional director of the Connecticut chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, is leading the event at 2 p.m. May 22 at the Senior Center. Jordan also spoke early this month at the Senior Center about the causes, risk factors, stages and treatment of Alzheimer’s.
“If you or someone you know is experiencing memory loss or behavioral changes, it’s time to learn the facts,” a flyer for the event states. “Early detection of Alzheimer’s disease gives you a chance to begin drug therapy, enroll in clinical studies and plan for the future. This interactive workshop features video clips of people with Alzheimer’s disease.”
Participants should RSVP to Megan Alworth-Khazadian, social services director, at 203-794-8537.
