Arsenal news: Luis Enrique and Max Allegri will not take job because of big board decision
ARSENAL will not be appointing Luis Enrique or Massimiliano Allegri as Arsene Wenger’s replacement because of a decision made by the Gunners hierarchy, reports have suggested.
Arsenal remain on the lookout for a replacement for Wenger despite the Frenchman announcing his decision to leave the Emirates nearly a month ago.
So far, Enrique and Allegri have spearheaded the rumour mill with both names appealing to supporters.
Allegri has steered Juventus to the last four Scudettos in Serie A and, consequently, looks to be a favourable option.
Enrique, meanwhile, impressed at Barcelona during his three years in Catalonia, where he won two La Liga titles as well as the Champions League in 2015.
Express Sport understands both men were on Arsenal’s radar in the early weeks of the managerial search, but the interest has cooled.

And the Daily Mail report that the Gunners hierarchy could cost the north London side the chance to appoint a marquee name.
It is suggested that financial restrictions put in place by Arsenal chief Ivan Gazidis is forcing them to look elsewhere.
And three fresh frontrunners for the job have now emerged.
Mikel Arteta, the current favourite for the job, could make a sensational return to Arsenal two years after he retired.
The Spaniard has been learning from Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and, after two years at the Etihad Stadium, could be tempted by an Arsenal return.

Patrick Vieira is another person in the frame.
Vieira has learned his trade at both City and New York City in the MLS, making him a standout candidate.
Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann, 30, has also been mooted by Arsenal chiefs.
But whether they opt to give it to somebody so young remains to be seen.
