In a circular issued on Tuesday, University of Mumbai MU said the LLB exams for all semesters will commence from the beginning of June instead of May-end.

This comes after Student Law Council (SLC), a students’ organisation, protested against the previous timetable and asked the MU to reschedule exams.

The varsity also declared the semester 5 results of the Third Year LLB/ BLS examination and the semester 1 of the First Year LLB/ Gen LLB examination on Tuesday.

One set of students had written to MU, opposing any changes in the previous examination schedule. They were afraid that the change in the dates would affect their internship and higher education plans. They too had floated an online petition and had collected around 400 signatures.

Vinod Malale, public relations officer, MU said, “We had received so many letters from individual students, as well as student organisations. They required sufficient time to study, as there was a delay in the announcement of some results. So, it was only fair that the exams were rescheduled.”

Earlier this month, the University had rescheduled the repeat examinations for Semesters 1, 3 and 5, upon continuous requests from students.
