Indore: There is no relief for people from scorching heat as mercury continued to hover over 41 degrees Celsius in the city on Sunday. Adding more to the woes of people, officials of Regional Meteorological Department said that the state would be reeled under heat waves for next two days. The Met Department has also issued yellow alert in the state for May 14 and 15.
“City temperature would remain above 41 degrees Celsius and it may increase further due to chances of heat wave. A system has been in generation in north and western part of the country but it will not affect conditions in the state,” the Met said.
Talking about the pre monsoon activities, the Met officials said that city would witness pre-monsoon activities after May 25 as monsoon would hit Kerala coast around May 29.
Meanwhile, maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 41 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was recorded at 25.5 degrees Celsius, both were stuck at the normal fluctuation.
Humidity in the morning was 43 per cent and it was 18 per cent in the evening while the hot winds were blowing with the speed of 20 kmph which troubled the denizens most.
Even on the weekend, the city roads bore a barren look throughout the day due to scorching Sun. Residents moved out of the houses in the evening to celebrate the weekend. Sell of coolers and air conditioners are still high in the market as most of electronic markets were open on Sunday as well.
