Next Arsenal manager: Burnley boss Sean Dyche backed for shock appointment live on radio
ARSENAL should appoint Burnley boss Sean Dyche as their new manager, according to BBC Sport pundit Chris Sutton.
Dyche has exceeded all expectations at Burnley this season, leading the Clarets to a seventh-placed finish in the Premier League.
The Englishman will lead his side in the Europa League next term after comfortably securing the final qualification spot.
But despite his impressive campaign, Dyche has not been mentioned in the running to replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.
The 46-year-old is as much as 100-1 with the bookies to get the Emirates top job.
But Sutton cannot understand why Dyche is seen as “unfashionable” and claims he is just the type of manager Arsenal need.

How do we know that Sean Dyche couldn’t go into Arsenal and turn them into a strong, all-round, outfit and compete for titles?
“Why not Sean Dyche? Why have we not heard Sean Dyche?” Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 Live.
“What are the issues at Arsenal? Do we really see issues with Arsenal going forward as an attacking outfit? I don’t think so.
“Where are the issues? Defensively. What has Sean Dyche done at Burnley since he’s gone in there? He has made them watertight and organised.
“He’s done his apprenticeship, he’s taken Burnley up, credit to the board at the particular time because they stuck with him when they went down, he brought them back.
“He’s had five years at Burnley and he has turned them into a brilliantly organised outfit.

“That is what I think Arsenal need in this moment in time. But he is unfashionable - that is everybody’s perception.
“But that is an unfair perception I think of Sean Dyche because he’s had to work, with respect, with a group of Burnley players with limited resources.
“So how do we know that Sean Dyche couldn’t go into Arsenal and turn them into a strong, all-round, outfit and compete for titles?”
The current favourite to replace Wenger is former Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta.
