Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was seen visiting a Sikh temple in Alberta’s capital on Monday night ahead of expected infrastructure announcements he is scheduled to attend in both Edmonton and Calgary a day later.

At least 100 people packed Gurdwara Millwoods in southeast Edmonton as Trudeau joined those inside to mark a Sikh religious occasion. Trudeau did not speak to media at the event.

Trudeau is expected to be flanked by Infrastructure Minister Amarjeet Sohi and Transportation Minister Marc Garneau for an announcement to be made at Edmonton’s Winston Churchill Square on Tuesday morning. Later in the day, the prime minister and Sohi will travel south to meet with Calgary mayor Naheed Nenshi at Stampede Station.

Earlier on Monday, Trudeau spoke to U.S. President Donald Trump by phone about the North American Free Trade Agreement negotiations.

In a news release, Trudeau’s office said they talked about “bringing the negotiations to a prompt conclusion,” and the White House issued a statement saying Trump “underscored the importance of quickly concluding an agreement.”
