50-yr-old man held for molesting daughter

GHAZIABAD: A 50-year-old man was arrested on Monday for allegedly sexually assaulting his minor daughter in Ghaziabad. The accused, Narendra Negi, was later sent to judicial custody by a court.
According to police, Negi lost his job in a private firm earlier this year.

His 12-year-old daughter studies in Class VIII in a private school in Vaishali. The FIR against Negi was registered on the basis of a complaint by his wife, a maid in a play school in Sector 3 of Vaishali.

He has been booked under sections 511 (attempt to commit offences punishable with life imprisonment) of IPC and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, at Indirapuram police station. “Negi’s wife has accused him of groping her daughter in her sleep. She has told police that Negi had been doing this for the past three to four years. The case has been registered in accordance with the allegations levelled by his wife. Further investigations are underway,” said police outpost in charge Bhupendra Poriya.Police said investigations are also underway to ascertain as to why Negi had lost his job. TNN
