Lalu returns to Ranchi as parole ends

Convicted Rashtriya (RJD) chief and former returned to Ranchi on Monday evening as his three-day parole ended.

Prasad was also granted six weeks' provisional bail by the on May 11 for medical treatment.

Sources close to Prasad said that the formalities for provisional bail would be completed on Tuesday upon which he would be able to visit again.

Prasad was admitted to (RIMS) in Ranchi on March 17 following complaints of uneasiness when lodged at the Birsa Munda Jail, where he is serving a prison term since December 23, 2017 in connection with fodder scam cases.

He has been convicted in four fodder scam cases since 2013, the latest being the Dumka treasury case in which a special sentenced him to 14 years in jail.
