REUTERS – A device discovered in a mosque in Verulam near the South African port city of Durban where worshipers were attacked by armed men last week was confirmed as an explosive today (May 14).

The device was discovered yesterday (May 13) three days after the attack at the mosque by three men armed with guns and knives. One person was killed after his throat was slit, and two others were injured.

Footage from Reaction Unit South Africa, a private emergency service, showed the mosque cordoned off and security personnel in the area calling for people to be evacuated on Sunday.
