Transfer window to open THIS WEEK

18:00: The transfer window is set to open on Thursday.

The Premier League have agreed to open the window early, in order to comply with FIFA regulations.

Sky Sports claim the EFL are likely to follow suit.

The reason for the move is because the Premier League voted to bring forward the transfer deadline to August 9 this year.

It means opening day is to be moved back as well.

Thomas Tuchel has been appointed the new manager of PSG

Ronaldo on Neymar

17:10: Former Real Madrid striker Ronaldo has spoken about Neymar’s proposed move to the Bernabeu.

“I don’t decide anything for Real Madrid. I’m following it in the press, but right now I have nothing confirmed,” the Brazilian said at Sunday's French football awards.

“I don’t know what is going to happen, although Madrid has historically made some big signings.

“If it is confirmed then Neymar would fit very well into the profile of a Real Madrid player.”

Tuchel joins PSG

17:00: Thomas Tuchel has been appointed as PSG’s new manager, despite long-running interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.

“Paris Saint-Germain is pleased to announce the arrival of Thomas Tuchel as coach of the professional team. The German technician signed a two-year contract with the club champion of France,” a PSG statement read.

Tuchel said: "It is with great joy, pride and ambition that I join this great world football club that is Paris Saint-Germain.

“After the signing of his contract I look forward to working with all these great players, all of whom are among the best on the planet.

“With my staff, we will do everything to help the team push their limits to the highest international level.

“There is extraordinary potential in Paris and this is the most exciting challenge that has come to me.

Mancini appointed Italy manager

16:00: Roberto Mancini has been appointed as the new manager of Italy.

“I’m happy to be back in Italy: tomorrow we’ll see what happens,” Mancini said.

The ex-Manchester City manager has signed a five-year contract with the Azzurri.

It means Chelsea boss Antonio Conte’s hopes of returning to national team management are over for now.

Mourinho could sign four players

14.35: Jose Mourinho could bring in four players this summer, Gary Neville claims.

The Red Devils finished second in the Premier League this season, securing Champions League football for next year.

And United hero Neville says Mourinho could bring in up to four players this summer, with the Special One likely to sign big characters to help with the mentality of his side.

"The question at Manchester United is which players do you keep and which don't you keep. Who are the ones that Jose Mourinho thinks don't have the mentality and who are the ones he feels do have it?" Neville told Sky Sports.

"I am confused by that, and Jose Mourinho probably is at times too, because the performance levels are up and down so much.

"It's not just game to game but half to half. Look at the games against Manchester City and Crystal Palace, you see them at such a low and then such a high.

"He has mentioned mentality a lot in the last few weeks and I am convinced it's because of those peaks and troughs coming so unexpectedly. You think how have they gone that low, and then here's something else.

"He will want to make sure that is gone. That usually goes by having characters in the dressing room not letting the standards drop and making sure he has two, three, four players added to the squad. People who know how to win and don't drop their standards week in, week out.

"That's what Manchester City have been this season, they have been consistent. Manchester United have had a good season in the league in finishing second but it has been inconsistent and they have dipped at times.

"They have lost against all three promoted teams, that's nine points. That's an attack for next season. There are nine points you need to sort out and then you work away at the others and the big gap."

Salah and Bale swap

12.50: Mohamed Salah and Gareth Bale could swap places in one of the most stunning deals in football history, according to sensational reports from Spain.

Spanish news outlet Diario Gol say Real Madrid are willing to include the Wales international in a player-plus-cash deal for Anfield superstar Salah.

Real are ready to offer Bale AND £79m (€90m) for the Egypt star this summer in the biggest swap deal in history.

Bale has struggled with injuries during his time at the Bernabeu and it seems the Spanish giants have ran out of patience with the winger.

And they are said to be lining up Liverpool sensation Salah as a possible replacement.

Real president Florentino Perez is said to believe Liverpool want at least £175m for Salah this summer.

And in a bid to get the price down he is ready to include Bale in the deal - killing two birds with one stone as they look to overhaul their squad.

Despite reaching the Champions League final again there is a feeling this Madrid team has reached the end of the line and will be ripped apart this summer.

Arfield arrives in Glasgow

11.05: Scott Arfield has arrived in Glasgow to sign for Rangers.

Arfield will become the first signing under new boss Steven Gerrard.

Arfield has agreed a four-year deal and completes his medical last month.

The midfielder has flown up to Glasgow from Burnley and will be confirmed as a Rangers player today.

Man Utd ready to make Ter Stegen move

10.30: Manchester United are ready to break the bank for Barcelona star Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

The Germany international has cemented his place as Ernesto Valverde’s No 1 at the Nou Camp.

Ter Stegen has kept 18 clean sheets this season, second to only Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak in La Liga.

And according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon, Ter Stegen is attracting interest from United.

They say Jose Mourinho is willing to pay £88m (€100m) for the 26-year-old this summer if David De Gea quits Old Trafford.

De Gea is a long-term target for Real Madrid, with the Spanish giants desperate to replace Keylor Navas at the Bernabeu.

Higuain to Chelsea

10.20: Chelsea could be in line to sign Gonzalo Higuain, should Maurizio Sarri be appointed this summer.

The Blues ended their Premier League season with a whimper on Sunday, losing 3-0 to Newcastle at St. James' Park.

Antonio Conte's future remains in the balance, and if the club fail to win the FA Cup later this month, it would be no surprise to see the Italian depart.

Napoli chief Sarri is the current front-runner to take over at Stamford Bridge.

And according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, the Serie A boss will look to reunite with Higuain upon his arrival in west London.

Sarri and the Juventus forward enjoyed a good relationship before he made his Stadio San Paolo exit in 2016.

Atletico want Griezmann to go to United

09.50: Atletico Madrid would prefer Antoine Griezmann to join Manchester United rather than Barcelona, reports claim.

Atletico Madrid hitman Griezmann nearly joined Manchester United last summer, with Barcelona focusing their efforts on keeping - and then replacing - Neymar.

The France international looked destined to move to Old Trafford but, after the La Liga giants were slapped with a transfer ban, he chose to give Atletico one more year of service.

United’s interest has appeared to cool since, particularly with the club pulling off big-money moves for the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku in recent times.

Yet Spanish outlet Don Balon say Atletico would still prefer to sell to them than Barcelona.

Salah happy at Liverpool

09.20: Mohamed Salah insists he’s happy at Liverpool.

The Egypt international, who was awarded with the Premier League Golden Boot yesterday, has been linked with a move away from Anfield in recent weeks.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are said to be tracking the former Chelsea winger, who has netted 44 goals in all competitions this season.

However, Salah has responded to rumours he will quit Anfield this summer, with the 25-year-old insisting he’s happy under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

When asked if he will leave Liverpool, Salah told Egyptian TV channel ON ENT: “All that I can say is that I’m happy to be here and I’ve adapted to the prevailing atmosphere.

“I’m thinking to end the season in the perfect way.”

Klopp eyes Grimaldo

08.35: Jurgen Klopp is reportedly considering whether to pay Benfica star Alex Grimaldo’s £53million release clause.

Liverpool are hunting reinforcements as Klopp targets Premier League glory at Anfield next season.

The Reds could sign a new left-back despite the fine form of Andy Robertson, who signed from Hull last summer.

Alberto Moreno’s Liverpool career appears to be ending with the Spaniard yet to ever truly convince.

And Transfermarketweb say Klopp could fork out £53m to sign Grimaldo.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a sensational season for Benfica, propelling them to second in the Primeira Liga table.

He is an outside shot to make Spain’s World Cup squad for the tournament, which starts next month.

Tierney focussing on Celtic

08.30: Kieran Tierney admits he’s flattered by interest in him but says he’s just concentrating on playing for Celtic.

The left-back has previously been linked with Manchester United, while Bournemouth are also monitoring him.

"I don't react in any other way than giving my all for Celtic everyday in training and in every game I play,” he said.

"I'm flattered by the interest from teams - you have to be - it means you're doing something well, it means you're doing something right. I'm just enjoying my time here now."

Zaha happy at Palace

08.10: Wilfried Zaha claims he is happy at Crystal Palace and expects to remain at the club.

The winger, who set Palace on course for a final-day win with the opening goal, has been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park with champions Manchester City leading the clubs eyeing the Ivorian.

But Zaha, 25, says he is happy to remain where he is after helping the Eagles to an 11th-place finish.

“I have no plans on leaving,” he said. “I’m enjoying my football, you can see how much I’m enjoying it. This is my home and there’s no reason for me to leave.”

Arsenal eye Koulibaly

08.00: Arsenal have pinpointed Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly as the man to improve their failing defence.

But the Italian club have placed a £53 million price tag on the Senegal star’s head, which put him out of Arsenal’s reach as they count the cost of failing to qualify for the Champions League.

Antonio Conte wanted to take Koulibaly to Chelsea in 2016 and he has been identified by Arsenal as they bid to tighten up at the back after Arsene Wenger’s departure.

The Gunners have conceded 51 league goals, the most they have let in since 1983-84, and are losing two centre-backs, with captain Per Mertesacker retiring and Laurent Koscielny out for months with a serious Achilles injury.

Wenger had wanted Jonny Evans, who is available for £3million after West Bromwich Albion’s relegation.

Napoli are expected to pocket a £50million windfall from selling midfielder Jorginho to an English club, with Manchester City favourites, and can afford to put a high price on Koulibaly.

The 26-year-old is under contract with Napoli until 2021 but Napoli are well aware they face a tough battle to keep hold of him this summer.

Bale/Martial swap

07.45: Manchester United are prepared to use Anthony Martial in the deal to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid.

Spanish website Don Balon claim United will offer Martial plus cash to seal Bale.

The Wales star’s future looks likely to be away from Madrid despite a return to form in recent weeks.

Bale has scored three goals in his last two games, including one in the Clasico.

But Madrid are set to overhaul their squad and see Bale as an option to let go.

Man Utd land £50m Sandro deal

07.30: Manchester United are closing in on a £50m deal for Alex Sandro, according to reports.

The Sunday Times claim United will kick-start their summer spending with the acquisition of the Juventus left-back.

Chelsea were in for Sandro but baulked at Juve’s asking price last summer.

But he is now keen to move and United believe they are close to a deal.

Sandro’s arrival would likely spell the end for Luke Shaw at Old Trafford.
