Sriharsha Misra birth centenary concludes

The birth centenary celebration of freedom-fighter and scribe Sriharsha Mishra and the 89th foundation day of Odia weekly “Nabeen” concluded here on Sunday morning.

The celebration was jointly organised by the Sriharsha Mishra Birth Centenary Celebration Committee and the weekly, “Nabeen”, informed committee convenor Rabi Rath.

The birth centenary was being observed by the Nabeen Pathagar and Sahitya Pratisthan from June 16, 2017. Food Supplies  and Consumer Welfare Minister Surjya Narayan Patro, Prof Kailash Chandra Das and many BJD leaders graced as guests.

Journalists like ‘Aaji’ editor Raas Bihari Behera, “Swikar” editor Hemanta Kumar Mahapatra, “Margadarshee” editor  Umasankar Prasad “ Kalinga Prabha” editor Pradipta Kumar Parida, “Srameek Varta”  editor Aren Kumar Pani, Deepak Kumar Prusti, Hrusikesh Mahanty Prabhudan Bhatra, “Sobha” editor Sanjit Pattnaik, International Champion in Weightlifting Narayan Sahu and well-known social worker Prabhakar Panda were felicitated with “Sriharsha Smruti Samman”.

Besides, a special issue of birth centenary “Sangrami Sriharsha Mishra” was also released.

Minister Patro said Sriharshababu was the proud son of the soil of Ganjam. Prof Kailash Chandra Das described Sriharshababu as a great patriot and freedom fighter.

While Dr Chandramani Swain delivered introductory address, Sushant Kar offered a vote of thanks.
