Lister's new car will be a heavily modified Jaguar that will put out 680hp; to have a production run of 250 units.
Lister Cars has released the first images of its forthcoming machine. The new car is based on the Jaguar F-Pace SVR and promises to be “the world’s fastest SUV.” The recently revived British company has so far only teased its new SUV in a tweet saying that it is ‘coming soon’. Despite the dearth of information in the tweet, elements of the F-Pace lineage can clearly be seen on the machine in the accompanying image.
Lawrence Whittaker – who bought the firm in 2013 – recently told our sister publication, Autocar UK, that it has begun work on an F-Pace SVR conversion which could make as much as 680hp. For comparison, the current F-Pace SVR on sale in international markets features a 550hp, 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine.
The company recently showcased a development version of the Lister Thunder – a heavily reworked F-Type R that is the first in a series of models based on Jaguar Land Rover’s portfolio. The carmaker's ultimate plan is to produce a new bespoke Lister Storm.
While the Thunder will be limited to 99 models, the brand's still-unnamed SUV is set to feature a larger production run of 250 units.
