Kiwi Danny Lee may have been a victim to a Donald Trump Heckler on the last day of the Players Championship.
Kiwi golfer Danny Lee fell victim to a Donald Trump-style heckler when trying to win The Players Championship on Monday.
Lee was in second place and paired with eventual winner Webb Simpson when he hit his 12th hole drive, before the Trump election slogan "make America great again" was yelled by a spectator.
Lee's tee shot found water, leading to a bogey that derailed his title chase on the short par four, a hole he birdied in rounds one and two.
Danny Lee ended in the drink on the 12th hole in the final round after a heackler form the crowd called "make America great again".
The heckle didn't go unnoticed by golfing fans on Twitter, with several spectators hearing the phrase, made famous during Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, loud and clear.

Playing alongside American Webb Simpson, it can be assumed the heckle was aimed at Lee.
Lee went into the water on 16 as well, with the shots in to the drink costing him second and a prize worth US$821,333 (NZ$1,179,126).
Lee eventually ended in a tie at 7th, six shots back.
Did I just hear someone just shout “Make America Great Again” when Danny Lee tee’d off of the 12th???? SMDH. #THEPLAYERS

Watching the #PlayersChampionship -- nobody's yelling "Bababooey!" after tee shots. But, a young voice was heard saying "Make America Great Again" after Danny Lee teed off on #12.
