Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Augusta County

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Augusta County, Staunton and Waynesboro in effect until 9 p.m. 

Scattered severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts and large hail are possible during the afternoon.

Flooding is also possible during the severe storm watch.
