Forecasters aren't calling for rain Monday despite heavy clouds hanging overhead in the morning hours. However, thunderstorms are expected again Tuesday.

The National Weather Service said Monday rain is out of the forecast for Delaware, eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and northeastern Maryland.

Predicted highs are in the 70s for most of the area Monday, according to NWS. Parts of southern Delaware and portions of Maryland could see temperatures in the low 80s.

Precipitation could return after midnight, NWS said, but patterns could change.

A cold front will approach from the northwest Tuesday afternoon or night, according to NWS. More rain and thunderstorms could follow, NWS said. Rain chances are expected to remain high during the later portions of the week, according to NWS.
