To beat the sweltering heat, cool summer camps are here!

With quite a number of ways introduced in the recent days to impart education in an enjoyable-way among the children, summer camps have emerged as one of the coolest ways to engage kids in different skill based activities.

Fast-catching up the attention of children here in Capital City. For fast few years numerous summer camps with innovative activities are being organised on a grand scale. With a reasonable pocket pinch, kids enrolled in these summer camps get an opportunity to taste life with wholesome new experiences.

Paving way towards a new kind of learning with hand on experiences, several play schools, private institutions including social organizations have yet again come up with power packaged activities to zest up kids’ life.

Keeping the preference of different age groups, the organisers have planned events ranging from sporting actions to scaling up the artistic quotients of the budding minds. Extending up to two week, this season most summer camp organisers are planning to take this special class beyond the regular subjects.

One of the oldest organisers of summer camps in Ranchi, Euro Kids representative said that our basic aim is to compel students to think out of the box. “Making activities fun is not just the aim but for us learning outcome is also important. Since, our summer camp enrolls students from age two to 14 year, the activities having been planned accordingly,” said Play School Head, Anupama Sinha

Euro kids that invite entry from children at a cost of Rs. 2000 have introduced unique activities to hone the skills of kids. Through Sprout Head, weekend escape…Field Trip, Role play which means dressing up like mommy and daddy, Colours Magic, let’s go retro,  floating fun, chronicle memories, pack and pouch, best out of waste, little chef, quiz etc different colours will be spilled on the canvas of little ones.

Also, the activities here have not just been confined to creative genres but lessons on sanitation (Clean Sweep) and child rights (Safety first ….good touch bad touch, buddy partners) will be also taught during the camp through lighthearted ways.

Depicting the quintessence of learning through fun, another summer camp organizer—LET’s  Talk, a platform for OFF-course learning that do not follow any book or pattern but follows interactive way of learning will be organizing the summer event focusing on three courses –Science and Education, physical fitness and one of the most loved subject among kids, Art and Craft.

Tanushree Agarwal of LET’s Talk, said, “It is a five days event where five activities like Interactive sessions, Zumba, Craft, Aerobics and science based activity will be taken up under the experts guidance. Starting from May 15, a nominal amount of Rs. 2500 is being charged as enrollment fees. Experts will be guiding students for two hours from 10:30 AM onwards. Children falling in the age group 7-14 years can register themselves.”

Similarly, to spice up the one month long summer holidays, various social organizations have also joined the ride of converting boring holidays into an extravaganza. Junior Chamber International (JCI) which has been organising summer camps annually with much fun-fare has adopted a unique way to expose students to fun-facts tutoring.

Following ‘cool’ mantra, organizers have introduced a variety of contents to help students take a break from the scorching heat. In a unique attempt, JCI this year has kept ‘Rock Garden’ – one of the popular recreational sites of Ranchi, the venue of the camp.

“Keeping in the mind the overall development of kids, the three day events has been planned by our team. Children falling in the age group four to 12 year have been enrolled. From 10 AM to 3 PM, kids are involved in range of activities from pottery making to dance to cookery. Activities have been planned seeking skill based learning. Rs. 1750 has been charged per kid. The camp has started from May 13,” said a representative of JCI, Smita.

Meanwhile, as temperature soar high, excitement among children to participate in the summer camps is also stirring up. “I have convinced my parent this year to allow me to participate in the summer camp along with my school friends. From story-telling to drawing and swimming, there is something for everyone and I will try my hands at different things,” said Raghav Rishi, a 10 year old boy.
