US Transfers two Cessna Surveillance Aircraft to Cameroon
The US government has transferred two American-made Cessna surveillance aircraft to the Cameroon Air Force to fight against Boko Haram and Islamic State in West Africa.
The Cameroon C208 Cessna Program is valued at approximately 24 billion CFA, or $4.3 million dollars. These surveillance aircraft represent a new link in the chain of cooperation, and have the potential to improve the safety and effectiveness of Cameroon's fighting forces, US Embassy in Cameroon said in a statement last Friday.
The two aircraft can provide real time information, through video and photograph, as well as through radio communications.
The transfer includes the training of pilots, equipment operators, spare parts, on ground technical support and personnel maintenance.
