Alleged Queensland dog kicker to plead guilty

A man intends to plead guilty to an animal cruelty charge after allegedly kicking his dog at a Gold Coast beach in January.

The lawyer for Brett Simpson told Southport Magistrates Court on Monday he will enter a guilty plea when the matter returns to court on July 9.

Video footage of Simpson yanking a young male Staffordshire terrier on a lead and allegedly kicking the animal at Palm Beach went viral and resulted in the man being charged.
