The Fort Myers High School softball team had been scheduled to start defense of its Class 7A state title on Friday afternoon at Historic Dodgertown in Vero Beach.

The Green Wave will have to wait at least an extra day.

The FHSAA announced Monday that the Softball State Championships will shift due to poor weather in the area. The tournament will start on Saturday instead of Friday. Fort Myers will still play Pembroke Pines Charter in the semifinal game at 4:05 p.m.

The winner of that game will face the Viera/Niceville winner on Sunday at 3:05 p.m in the state championship.
