CISCE results: Summer Valley’s Rohit tops Class 12 exams with 98.75%

Rohit Vasav Negi of Summer Valley School emerged as topper of the Class 12 examination results of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) declared on Monday. Negi scored 98.75% marks in ‘best’ four subjects.

The CISCE released Class 12 (ISC) and Class 10 (ICSE) examination results in the afternoon. According to the CISCE’s website, 80,880 candidates appeared for the Class 12 and 1,83,387 for the Class 10 examinations.

Rohit, son of a government employee SS Negi and teacher Manju Negi, scored 100 marks each in Mathematics and Chemistry, 97 in Physics, 98 in English and 96 in Biology.

Rohit has also cleared the IIT JEE Main examination and will be sitting for the JEE Advanced examination on May 20. He said he wishes to become a researcher and has applied in the Delhi University and some foreign universities. “Engineering is just an option. But I wish to pursue a career in medicine research,” he said.

His parents are happy with his performance. “He has earned it,” his mother said.

Shivansh Gahlot of Brightlands School got the second position with 98.5% marks, while Devanshi Negi scored 98.25% to get the third position.

Abhiti Mishra of St. Joseph’s Academy scored 98.5% to become the school topper in science stream. Similarly, Kartikey Singh Bhandari of Summer Valley scored 97%. Anjali Tiwari of Carman Day and Residential School scored 95.5%. Pradum Aggarwal of Aryan School scored 95%. Pragun Aggarwal and Harshit Bansal of Doon School scored 98.8.

At Convent of Jesus and Mary (CJM), Tashi Jain scored 98% marks. “Both of my parents are civil engineers and my brother too. I wish to become an engineer and follow the footsteps of my family. I cleared IIT JEE Main with 180 marks,” she said.

Anku Jain of St. Thomas College topped the school with 96% in science stream. Similarly, Aditi Trivedi of St Mary’s School Nainital scored 94.75% marks.

Harshit Pant of St. Joseph’s Academy scored 97.6%. Vdansh Nigam of Aryan School scored 97%. Affan Zafar of Carman Day and Residential School scored 94.2%. Soumyashree of St. Thomas College bagged 96.4%, followed by Vanish Sharma with 96% and Ananya Yadav with 95%. Aryaman Mihir Seth of Brightlands School scored 98%. His father Deepam Seth is the inspector general (IG) of police (law and order) with the state government.
