The Big Bang Theory ended its eleventh season last week with Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy's (Mayim Bialik) wedding, which had us laughing and crying. And now, with that long-awaited event out of the way, our anticipation turns to Season 12.

Here's what we know so far. We'll keep updating this article as we find out more.

Season 12 is probably the final season. The cast's (incredibly lucrative) contracts are up after next season, and it sounds like CBS and Warner Bros., the studio that produces the show, don't want to keep paying them. And the actors seem at peace with that. "The only manner in which the cast has discussed wrapping [The Big Bang Theory] has been that we're all going to be very sad when that day comes," star Johnny Galecki said in January. "But I think at this point everyone's very comfortable with 12 seasons being a good time to go home and see our families."

And before the finale, showrunner Steve Holland told TVLine that he's operating on the idea that Season 12 is The Big Bang Theory's last until he hears otherwise. Which is far from a confirmation, but it's not something the showrunner of a successful long-term show would generally say if he was confident the show was coming back.

There will be more Young Sheldon crossovers. The spin-off has opened up what executive producer Steven Molaro calls a "unique time portal" where characters from Sheldon's childhood can grow up and head to The Big Bang Theory. One of those characters showed up in Season 11 in the form of Jerry O'Connell as Sheldon's brother George Jr. And Molaro told TV Guide that more might be coming, like young Sheldon's friend Tam.

As for the other direction -- Big Bang to Young Sheldon -- that's a little harder to pull off, but don't rule it out. "If we found the right story that worked for both shows it could happen," Holland told Deadline.

Don't expect any more babies. Now that Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Sheldon and Amy are married, fans are expecting more babies than Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette's (Melissa Rauch) two. But don't get your hopes up.

"I think we're at our baby quota," Galecki tells TV Guide. "We're already tripping over bassinets onstage. That's enough."

Season 12 will premiere in the fall. Typically the show premieres in late September and airs on Mondays until November, when it moves to its regular time on Thursdays. We'll know for sure when CBS' 2018-19 schedule is released later this week.

(Full disclosure: TV Guide is owned by CBS.)
