Ludhiana police officer's son found dead in car in Sudhar area

LUDHIANA: Sudhar police on Saturday booked unidentified accused for murder after dead body of son of a police officer of Ludhiana police was found in a car on a village road on Mullanpur Sudhar road in the morning. The deceased was identified as 23-year-old Jivanjot Singh, son of Sub Inspector Gurmeet Singh, of Pakhowal road.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Surjeet Singh told The Times of India that SHO Sudhar got call from some passerby that dead body of a youth was present in a Ford Figo vehicle about hundred yards from Issowal village on Mullanpur Sudhar road. He added that later he also reached the crime spot after identification of the dead body and found that the deceased was sitting on the driver’s seat.

Senior police officer said that white colour powder and a syringe was lying on the foot mat in front of seat next to driver’s seat. He added that a trouser and T shirt and pesticide and agriculture related bills were also recovered from the car.

Police officials said that apparently it looks that the deceased was murdered and then his dead body was put in the dickey and brought to the area. They added that the deceased sat on the driver’s seat of his car in improper manner and his private parts were visible.

SSP said that the deceased had told his family members on Friday morning that he is going to Patiala to meet his grand parents and he didn’t take calls till late evening before his mobile was coming out of reach. He added that father of the deceased told police that the deceased was taking treatment for addiction problem from Patiala.

SSP said that a case under section 302 (murder) of IPC was registered at Sudhar police station against unidentified accused and further investigation into the matter is on. He added that as per father of the deceased, they don’t have enmity with anyone.
