Schools warned against publicising rank holders

Board results can be accessed online, says Directorate of Government Exams

The School Education Secretary, Pradeep Yadav, has asked the CEOs to take action against schools that promoted students as rank holders or advertised them on flex banners or posters outside their schools.

The move was taken by the department in order to ensure students remained stress free and undaunted by competition, according to a circular.

The State government previously used to announce the top three ranks.

The School Education Department last year abolished the practice of announcing ranks for Plus-Two and Class X exams.

The Directorate of Government Examinations announced on Saturday that schools can log onto the official DGE websites and access the results.

The Plus-Two results will be announced at 9.30 a.m. on May 16 and the department has said that schools can access the results online using the login ID and password assigned to them.

The Director, D. Vasundaradevi, said in a circular, that preparations were being made to enable institutions to access school-wise results online. “Previously, CDs with the school-wise results were given to the CEOs and district educational officials who would send it across to the schools. The online process will make it easier,” she said.

The schools can go to www.tndge.in or www.dge.tn.gov.in to access the school-wise marks with the credentials assigned to them.
