There will be an encore screening of the Met Opera’s production of Giuseppe Verdi’s tragedy Luisa Miller at the St James Cavalier Cinema.
The opera in three acts, based on the play Kabale und Liebe (Intrigue and Love) by the German dramatist Friedrich von Schiller, is about a young woman who sacrifices her own happiness in an attempt to save her father’s life.
The cast includes Sonya Yoncheva as the peasant girl Luisa, opposite Piotr Beczalaas as Rodolfo, with Plácido Domingo as Luisa’s father Miller, Olesya Petrova as Federica, and Alexander Vinogradov and Dmitry Belosselskiy as Walter and Wurm respectively, the ruthless men determined to tear Luisa and Rodolfo apart.
