Gift your mom a youthful look

Delhi follows global trend of gifting ‘facial aesthetic procedures’

Gone are the days of fancy dinners or diamond earrings. Gift ideas for Mother’s Day are now about bringing value to the life of the person you love.

Non-invasive ‘facial aesthetic procedures’ is one such global gifting trend that seems to have caught the imagination of Delhiites.

“Till a few years ago, women who came to aesthetic clinics were either in show business or from the elite class. However, today a lot of people have opened up to the idea of cosmetic treatments. During occasions like Mother’s Day, new-age mothers not only pamper themselves but also bring in their mothers to treat them to aesthetic procedures,” said plastic surgeon Dr. Monisha Kapoor.

She added that the trend is largely been driven by children wanting to gift their mothers various facial procedures to reverse the impact of ageing, and make them appear younger and be more confident.

Aesthetic dermatologist Dr. Anupriya Goel, Berokowits Clinic, said: “The most popular procedure is facial rejuvenation using dermal fillers to address sunken eyes and under-eye hollows, hence, reversing tired and fatigued eyes into sparkling and bright eyes.”

“Other concerns like loss of facial volume, such as flat and hollow cheeks, can also be addressed with the help of painless, hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers. When administered under the skin, they provide volume to the affected area, filling up the hollows and depressions. Fillers also help smoothen fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes to provide a more youthful appearance,” said aesthetic dermatologist Dr. Reema Arora, Matrix Dental and Skin Lounge.

Most popular

“This year, dermal fillers are among the most popular gifts from daughters to mothers. The procedure costs ₹25,000-₹30,000, and the effect lasts for 12-18 months. Not only elderly women, but new mothers dealing with the stress of motherhood also sometimes need this procedure. De-tanning, hair removal and de-pigmentation treatments are also in high demand,” she added.
