The Bishop Connolly boys' track and field team took three first places in placing third overall at the Mayflower Athletic Conference Championships on Thursday at Southeastern Regional High School in Easton.

Seniors Samuel Harstad and John Aguiar were big scorers, both posting a first place and third place. Harstad won the high jump (5-10) and took third in the triple jump (39-2). Aguiar won the 800 meters (2:05) and was third in the 400 (53.41).

Classmate Nathan-Craig Machado won the 100 (11.71).

Benjamin Walz was second in the 400 hurdles (1:01). The Cougars got third places from sophomore Jamison DeFaria (2 miles, 11:12) and from the 4x100 relay team of Darian Machado, Shayne Velho, Harrison Carter and Machado.

Connolly finished with 81 points, trailing Diman and Southeastern.
