Man Utd transfer news: Jose Mourinho plots Real Madrid raid to derail Liverpool’s plans
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly weighing up a move for Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez.
Jose Mourinho is set to splash the cash this summer in a bid to challenge rivals Manchester City for the Premier League title next season.
With the likes of Anthony Martial and Marouane Fellaini’s futures uncertain and Michael Carrick retiring, the Portuguese boss is on the lookout for midfield reinforcements.
And according to Spanish publication OK Diario, Mourinho is keen to bring Vazquez to Old Trafford.
The report claims the former Chelsea boss is a long-term admirer of the Spaniard and believes his defensive qualities can bring something fresh to his team.
News of Mourinho’s interest in the 26-year-old will come as a blow to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

Widespread reports in Spain suggest the German is working to convince the winger to make the switch to Merseyside.
Liverpool are said to be willing to up his wages from what he currently earns in the Spanish capital.
Vazquez, who has contributed eight goals and 16 assists in just 27 games in all competitions this season, is under contract with Los Blancos until 2021.
However, despite interest from United and Liverpool, both clubs face a tough task in convincing him to leave.
