Bharati trains guns on obstinate babus at Swachhata Sammelan

BHOPAL : Union Minister for drinking water and sanitation Uma Bharti trained guns at bureaucrats stating that on the pretext of honesty some officials refrain from performing their duties. Where should I keep their honesty in the government system, said Bharati while addressing a state-level Swachhata Sammelan at Ravindra Bhavan under Rajya Swachh Bharat Mission here on Saturday.

“Whatever these IAS and IPS officer want to do, they say yes it can be done; but whatever they don’t want, they say it’s not possible,” quipped the minister known for her fiery rhetoric.

Firebrand former state chief minister was apparently angry at state bureaucrats for not heeding to her direction. Bharati reportedly had a written to the chief secretary asking for IAS cadre to Vinay Nigam. And for this she had reportedly broken her ‘Maun Vrat’ at Gangotri. The minister purportedly believes that state IAS lobby is biased against Nigam, who is a state cadre officer.

Calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi a real freedom fighter, the Union minister said, “While the country had got the independence in the year 1947, but the real freedom came when Narendra Modi became the PM”.

Speaking highly about the Swachhata programme, she said that it is the only programme in the world which has achieved its target before the set time.

“Whatever these IAS and IPS officer want to do, they say yes it can be done; but whatever they don’t want, they say it’s not possible,” says Union minister

Calling upon people to contribute in cleanliness campaign, the minister said “don’t wait for the government to do for each and every thing, you people should also come forward and contribute in the cleanness. Don’t think that Modi will come and do sweeping”.

“Stop hypocrisy in the name of religion, if you really want to save cows don’t throw polythene carrying eating materials,” said Bharati.

Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in his address reiterated his commitment to declare the state total ODF by October 2, 2018. He claimed that around 11 lakh toilets will be constructed by then in the state.
