Ujjain : Congress leader and spokesperson Noorie Khan demanded complete purification of river Kshipra and converting it to a flowing river. The leader started fast unto death on Saturday at Tower square for redressal her demands.
According to Khan the government has spent crores of rupees for making the river flowing and removing filthiness of the river but still water of drainages and Kanh river is getting mixed with the water of the holy river.
Khan also alleged the civic body of not supplying the water of river Narmada after spending huge fund specially sectioned for Narmada-Kshipra link project.
She slammed BJP leaders and CM Shivrajsingh Chouhan for not ensuring planting of saplings around the river.
Khan addressed the party workers at Tower Square and said Congress party repeatedly raised the issue of Kshipra purification and purified water supply in the city but ruling BJP government turned a deaf ear every time. She reiterated that the fight would last long till the redressal of the all the issues.
