Agitating lawyers end strike

Lawyers protesting against the police action taken to target advocate Ashish Dubey ended their ongoing pen-down strike on Friday. The protest was continuing for the last eight days.

However the advocates still remained separate from the executive court works. Earlier a meeting of the District Bar Association was convened where it was decided to end the strike while honoring the order given of the High Court given hearing the PIL filed there.

It was also decided that even after the strike was over, the advocates will only lodge legal appeals and will do the other works in the judiciary but the lawyers will not conduct executive duties.

Association members demand that Garhwa SP M Arshi to be transferred from the district. The meeting was attended by president Alakh Niranjan Choubey, Secretary Bhrigunath Chaubey, Ashok Tiwari, Ashok Patwa, Ashish Kumar Dubey, Niranjan Choubey, Karuna Nidhi Tiwari and many others.
