Indore : City police detained driver of a liquor company manager for allegedly stealing Rs 2.48 lakh from the car in MIG area, on Saturday. Police believed that the accused had stolen money from the bag when he was alone in the car. Police are taking every possible efforts to recover the stolen money.
Investigating officer ASI Kamlesh Mishra said that Sanjay Rigrewal of Scheme No 54 lodged a complaint that someone had stolen Rs 2.48 lakh he kept in a bag in his car, on Friday. The incident came to light when he reached home from his office situated near LIG Square.
After receiving complaint, the police started investigation when it was revealed that the incident took place between 8.15pm and 8.30 pm on Friday. Sanjay was in his office situated on the fourth floor of a commercial building while his driver Lokendra was in his car in the parking lot. Sanjay had sent an employee to keep his bag containing money in his car. The employee kept the bag and returned to the office.
After a few minutes, Sanjay reached the parking lot and he along with Lokendra left for his residence. After reaching home, when Sanjay searched the bag, he found the money missing.
During investigation, the police detained Lokendra. He first tried to mislead the police but later confessed to stealing money from the bag. However, the money could not be recovered from him. Police claimed that they were taking every effort to recover money from him.
