BHOPAL : The IAS association will hold a dinner on Saturday prior to the retirement of chief secretary BP Singh.
The dinner, seen as a farewell to Singh who is scheduled to retire in June, will be held at IAS Guest House.
Usually, the farewell dinner is held at CS residence. The association held farewell dinners for former chief secretary Avni Vaish, R. Parashuram and Antony De Sa at their places.
Speculations are rife that in the view of assembly elections Singh will get an extension by six months. A lobby of bureaucrats is also working for his extension.
Earlier, chief secretary R Parashuram was given extension prior to Assembly elections 2013 but his tenure ended before code of conduct coming into force.
Many believe that the delay in decision over Singh’s extension is due to the possibility that opposition parties may make a complaint to the Election Commission about it.
