Himanshu Roy Funeral: Family members and relatives mourn the loss of Mumbai’s top cop


Mumbai: Former Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) Chief Himanshu Roy allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself on Friday, police said. The 1988-batch IPS officer allegedly shot himself at his residence with his service revolver.

The mortal remains of Himanshu Roy arrived on Friday night at his Chandanwadi residence in Mumbai for cremation. Roy’s family members as well as relatives were seen emotional at the moment and gave last respect to the Mumbai’s top cop.

A suicide note which has been recovered said “no one should be held responsible,” News18 reported. Moreover, as per ANI report, the suicide note recovered by the Mumbai police stated that the IPS officer was suffering from depression as a result of his illness due to cancer and hence, ended up committing suicide.
