ALLAHABAD: A day after the sensational murder of district court lawyer Rajesh Kumar Srivastava, the state government on Friday shunted out Allahabad SSP Akash Kulhary and appointed SP (Railways) Agra Nitin Tiwari in his place.

Kulhary has been attached to the DGP headquarters in Lucknow.

Police on Friday issued sketches of the suspects involved in the daring broad daylight killing that was captured on CCTV, and carried out raids in city outskirts and neighbouring districts.

Deputy SP (Colonelganj) Alok Mishra claimed that police have vital clues about the assailants. "While hotelier Pradeep Jaiswal, named in the FIR filed in this case, has been arrested, three other persons have been picked up for questioning," he said.

Deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, meanwhile, visited the house of the murdered lawyer in Rambagh on Friday and handed over a cheque of Rs 20 lakh to his family. The state government had announced Rs 20 lakh compensation to the family. Maurya also visited the family of recently murdered BJP corporator Pawan Kesari in Phulpur and handed over a cheque of Rs 20 lakh to his family. The deputy CM claimed that the state government has taken the two incidents seriously.
