Citizens complain of taxi trouble

Several people who turned to app-based taxi aggregators to book a car said they were charged higher than usual fares. Most users also reported long waiting time as a majority of drivers had left for their hometowns and villages to vote.

Ravi, a driver with Uber, went to Pavagada taluk, to vote, while his colleague Venkata Reddy left for Sidlaghatta over the weekend. “Voting is near compulsory as the village head questions us if we don’t come home. If we vote, the head will help solve our problems,” Mr. Reddy said.
