How Cedar Rapids area and former Iowa Hawkeye players are doing in pro baseball

A periodic look at how former Cedar Rapids area preps and Iowa Hawkeyes are faring in pro baseball.

Jake Adams (Iowa) — First baseman with low-Class A Quad Cities (Astros) is hitting .274 in 25 games, with four home runs and 16 RBIs.

Joel Booker (Iowa) — Outfielder with high-A Winston-Salem (White Sox) is hitting .307 in 27 games, with six doubles, two triples, two home runs, nine RBIs and seven stolen bases.

Matt Dermody (Iowa) — Placed on the disabled list at Triple-A Buffalo (Blue Jays), where he had a 7.20 earned run average in five relief outings.

Nick Gallagher (Iowa/Iowa City West) — Right-handed pitcher has thrown in four games for low-A Lake County (Indians) and has a save and 1.59 ERA. Has struck out 16 in 11 1/3 innings.

Blake Hickman (Iowa) — Reliever for high-A Winston-Salem (White Sox) has no record and 2.76 ERA in nine games. Allowed 10 hits in 16 1/3 innings and has 20 strikeouts.

Mitch Keller (Cedar Rapids Xavier) — Has lost two of his last three starts for Double-A Altoona (Pirates). Has 3-2 record and 3.44 ERA in six starts this season, allowing just 29 hits in 34 innings.

Mason McCoy (Iowa) — Shortstop has eight hits in his last four games for low-A Delmarva (Orioles), increasing his batting average to .264 in 30 games.

Nick Roscetti (Iowa) — Infielder had four consecutive multi-hit games last week for low-A Wisconsin (Brewers). Hitting .346 in 23 games, with 15 RBIs.

Tyler Peyton (Iowa) — Doing a nice job in bullpen for high-A Myrtle Beach (Cubs). Has a 1-1 record, a save and 1.42 ERA in 10 appearances, posting 19 strikeouts in 19 innings.

Scott Schebler (Cedar Rapids Prairie) — Cincinnati Reds outfielder has three homers and 12 RBIs in 78 at-bats. Had a 2-for-5 game with a double last week against the New York Mets.

Jake Yacinich (Iowa) — Infielder on disabled list at Double-A Mobile (Angels), where he was 2-for-11 at the plate in four games.
