ABC has cancelled Priyanka Chopra’s TV show Quantico as TV networks said goodbye to many shows in a move being described as “TV bloodbath”, according to Entertainment Weekly. The drama headlined by Priyanka will not return after its third season – already being telecast – runs its course.

According to EW, the FBI drama has been averaging 2.4 million viewers and a 0.5 in the 18-49 demographic. The series has undergone creative changes, with Michael Seitzman taking over as show runner this year. The cancelations of series like Quantico, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Designated Survivor, and Lucifer are making space for new programmes in the fall.

Actor Kal Penn, quoting the story, tweeted to Priyanka, “Hey @priyankachopra let’s do a movie.” The Bollywood star -- who is yet to react to the news of her show getting cancelled – replied, “Done and done.”

Priyanka stars in Quantico as Alex Parrish, who initially was an FBI trainee suspected of being a terrorist. The show also starred Josh Hopkins, Jake McLaughlin, Aunjanue Ellis, Yasmine Al Massri, Johanna Braddy, Tate Ellington, Graham Rogers, Anabelle Acosta, Russell Tovey, Pearl Thusi, Blair Underwood, Marlee Matlin and Alan Powell.

Priyanka has two others Hollywood indie projects in hand – A Kid Like Jake and Isn’t It Romantic? The actor made her Hollywood debut as a villain in Dwayne Johnson’s Baywatch that failed to work at the box office.

Priyanka has also returned to Hindi films after a gap of three years. She will be the female lead in Salman Khan-starrer Bharat that is being directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
