Haryana constitutes sanctioning committee under PMMVY

Haryana Government has constituted a State Level Sanctioning Committee (SLSC) under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) to sanction projects or activities under the Flexi-Fund to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the outcomes of the Yojana.

Principal Secretary, Women and Child Development department would be its chairperson, while Director, Women and Child Development Department would be its member secretary, said an official spokesman.

He said that Directors of National Health Mission, Haryana, General Health Service, Planning Department, Finance department, Development and Panchayats Department and Director PMMVY, Ministry of Women and Child Development department would be its members and one invited member who would be called at the discretion of the chairperson.

The SLSC would sanction the projects under PMMVY and monitor their progress. The Committee would review the implementation of the schemes objectives and ensure that the programmes are implemented in accordance with the guidelines laid down, said he.

The spokesman said that the committee would commission or undertake field studies to monitor the implementation of the projects and would ensure that no duplication of efforts or resources takes place.

Other functions of the committee are initiating evaluation studies from time to time, as may be required, undertaking any other projects of importance to the women and child health and allied sectors and ensuring that there are no inter-district disparities with respect to the financial patterns or subsidy assistance in the projects.

These committees would continue till it is reconstituted or modified, he added.
