Senior on Saturday targeted for visiting temples in when polling was underway in Karnataka, saying he was trying to influence voters.

"This is not a good tradition in democracy. In Gujarat, he did a roadshow after casting his vote. has clearly said that no one can do a roadshow. Despite that he violated the code of conduct," Gehlot told the media here.

"Today, he chose a new way (to influence voters). As the polling got underway in Karnataka, PM visits temples, because he can't do it in the state as the code is in force ... just to influence voters," he said.

"Why did he only choose today (Saturday) as the day (to visit temples)," he asked.

The said: "He is trying to sent out a message that he is very religious and a Hindu. In India, only RSS-BJP people, Modiji and (BJP President) are Hindus, the rest of Hindus don't stay in "
