IPL 2018, Match 44: FPJ’s Dream XI for Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders

It is a must-win game for both the sides as a victory here will take Punjab closer to playoffs berths, and keep KKR somehow alive. After starting the 11th season on a high note, KXIP floundered after losing some matches back to back. And here a win against KKR will help them to bring their campaign back on track. KXIP is mostly relying on their opening pair- KL Rahul and Chris Gayle. There is a need for the middle-order to come and contribute to the side. The concern is the form of Indian star Yuvraj Singh who is yet to make his presence felt. Here is the probable dream XI for the Kings XI:

KXIP: Chris Gayle, KL Rahul, Karun Nair, Yuvraj Singh / Akshdeep Nath, Manoj Tiwary, Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Andrew Tye, Mohit Sharma, Mujeeb Rehman.

On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were shocked by Mumbai Indians (MI) after two consecutive victories over Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. KKR might lack confidence as they were bowled by MI at 108 chasing the huge score of 211. Openers Lynn, Narine and Russell’s form has been a huge concern for them. Their contribution can bring some positive results for the side. Now, a spot in the Playoff hangs in a balance, with both Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals in contention to be the fourth team to make it through the round robin stages. Here we see the probable dream XI for the Knight Riders:

KKR: Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Robin Uthappa, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik, Shubman Gill, Andre Russell, Piyush Chawla, Tom Curran, Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav
