Francis R. Schnoebelen, 89, of Unionville, Mo., died Thursday, May 10, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Playle-Collins Funeral Home in Unionville, Mo., with internment to follow at Rose Cemetery, east of Unionville, where military honors will be provided.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to Putnam County Senior Center or the Martinstown Fire Department in Unionville through the funeral home.
Francis served his country for over 27 years in the United States Air Force. Upon discharge he established his residence in the Quad Cities and later moved to Unionville, where he has lived the past 38 years.
The ones dear to him who he leaves behind are a very special friend, Donna Jones from Edina, Mo.; his siblings, Mick Hammer (Dale R.) and Dale Schnoebelen (Connie) of Iowa City, John E. Geers of Rantoul, Ill., Darlene and Bill Maines of Pensacola, Fla., and Leo and Shirley Ruth of Solon, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Schnoebelen in 2001; brothers Jerry, Edwin and Verle Schnoebelen; and sisters, Lu Harland, Phyllis Ruth and Alice Geers.
Francis was loved by many and will be missed by his family and friends.
